Just outside Uyuni, Bolivia.

Taken on day 3 of our tour of the salt flats, after the flamingos this was the bit I was really looking forwards too :excited: The Old Railway Cemetery rusting in the salty desert :relax: It would be super great to see during the golden hours :sun: It was still really great at 1 in the afternoon, leaving us feeling like kids playing cowboys & indians for a while afterwards :ekud: :mib: (maybe days in some cases  )

Flamingos.. or steam...Old steam, certainly!

Any IDs on the machines?

Didn't notice an I.D's. In the flamingos defence they we're awesome! Though, pink & very much alive - 'in the pink' - the opposite of these trains :hmm: But - I definitely preferred photographing the trains, they didn't require any stalking. Thanks for comment =)

Shame, that they're fated to be unknown, I mean.

But you're welcome, for the comment! Nice image, for one that didn't require bird stalking ;-)

It was sad, I guess eventually they'll rot away to dust... that'll take a while though.

I would love to see the steam era live again. Maybe one day, when commercial railroads will be obsolete and replaced by antigrvitational transport freaks like us will use them for luxury oldschool :XD:

I like your style. This is the second one of your pictures I've called a Favourite. It's really beautiful, the colours and bruteness of the train work so well! :)

Great shot. I love the contrast of the almost monochromatic lower half w/ the mountains, desert and trains with the upper half w/ the beautiful blue sky. I bet it would have been great during golden hours.
